Who are we?
In close collaboration between schools and social services, we work together to strengthen students' safety, participation, and opportunities to succeed in their education. Through a school social team with interdisciplinary competence, we can offer early, coordinated, and relationship-building interventions that support both students and their families. Our common mission is to promote attendance, create good learning environments, and provide quick and easily accessible support when needs arise so that every student has the best conditions to develop and thrive in school.
We are now looking for engaged special educators and counselors for our school social teams, interdisciplinary teams that work closely with school staff, student health, and social services to provide early support to children and young people.
The school social team works preventively and relationship-building in schools to counteract absenteeism, strengthen students' school connection, and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment. The mission involves both working with individual students and development efforts at group and school levels.
The focus is on promoting safety and participation among students, as well as increasing school attendance through interdisciplinary collaboration.
The Education Office is now hiring staff for school social teams, one for each of our five primary school areas and one for the high school's introductory program. We are looking for special educators for primary school area 1 (Southern City), area 2 (Eastern City), and area 4 (Outlying Schools). We are looking for counselors for primary school area 3 (Northern City) and area 5 (Western City) as well as for high school. As a special educator or counselor in the school social team in the area, you will be attached to one or a couple of individual schools, which will be your workplace.
Your tasks
In the school social team, you work to promote attendance, prevent, and take action by creating learning environments and teaching situations that enable students with high absenteeism to participate in teaching. You also work to create safety and study peace. The work takes place close to the students in the school environment, in classrooms, and during breaks.
Within primary schools, you are part of the school's student health team and contribute to preventive, investigative, and remedial work.
You work proactively and relationship-building with students at risk of absenteeism or social isolation.
To succeed in the role, it is important that you have a close collaboration with the representative from social services. You carry out targeted interventions to increase students' motivation and participation in schoolwork.

Who are you?
For the social pedagogue position:
For the position of special educator, we are looking for someone who has a degree as a special educator or another higher education qualification that the employer assesses as equivalent. You have experience working in primary school as a special educator.
For the counselor position:
For the position of counselor, we are looking for someone who has a degree from the social work program or a degree as a behavioral scientist. You have experience working in primary or secondary school, as well as experience with methodological support such as Repulse, motivational interviewing, or similar.
For all positions:
You have experience and enjoy driving processes and taking initiatives in ongoing development work. As a person, you are secure, responsive, and relationship-building. You have the ability to work both independently and in teams, and you are used to collaborating with several stakeholders around children and young people.
You are used to analyzing, identifying the causes of problems, and finding practical solutions. You can also lead and coach and help others achieve set goals.
To be considered for the position, you must have very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
